Western Force Gold Complete Yamaha Sweep

Western Force Gold have recorded a comprehensive 60-12 victory over Japanese club Yamaha in wet and windy conditions at Rugby Park in Perth today.

Centre Scott Staniforth led the rout, completing his hat-trick five minutes into the second half. Australia A winger Digby Ioane chimed in with two tries of his own in his return to Force Gold colours.

After trailing 41-0 at half time, Yamaha showed grit and worked their way back into the game, testing the Force Gold defence at times in the second stanza.

Staniforth, Scott Daruda, Matt Henjak and Haig Sare were in good form for the home side’s backline, while forwards Luke Holmes, Matt Windle, Richard Brown and David Pocock ensured there was plenty of possession to put to use.
