Gee, this ref is awful
On his learner wheels at best, anyway. Eagles knock-on and Force head for the try line, but he calls it back for the scrum. You could hear him then apologising for getting it wrong. But only a bit of course...swapping a try for a chance to take on the strongest part of the Eagles game. From which they duly get the short-arm. :whatever:
Not happy with Eagles forward pass by a mile to get a try - and Deegan giving out the pay to the ref.
Hannigan is a filthy grub.
Hannibal was getting away with all sorts and the ref just turned a blind eye!
At least Perth Gold beat NSW Country
At the pointy end of the comP, my cynical side is expecting a bit more of the ref/RA shit to come into the next few games. Am really disappointed in the level reffing overall in the games as well, the Fiji game yesterday had some abominable calls.
Did any former props out there notice the weird way our reserve tighthead prop was binding onto our hooker? I have never seen anything like this before.
He was grabbing the back of the hookers pants with the palm of his hand pointing backwards, so his arm and shoulder was therefore slightly twisted backwards, which would de-power his scrumming and so the bind of the Force pack was weak and it therefore would collapse or disintegrate under pressure. We gave away a scrum penalty at almost ever scrum while he was on.
Any further opinions on our woeful scrum the weekend? I know Heath going off destabilised things, but surely they shouldn't have been dominated so much - was there something happening in the scrum to cause it? Am a bit annoyed at Heath for his brain fart - sometimes I think he lets teams rile him and then reacts.
Take a look at the scrum at 1 hour 44 minute mark, where you can clearly see how Tim Sheminant our tight head prop is setting up his strange bind before the scrum and you can see the resulting penalty against the Force when we right on attack. This happened several times, and in my humble opinion cost us the game.

Slightly tangential questions - thoughts on Dom Hardman?
The local Wests player (not sure if he is originally from England?) who appeared at THP in the early rounds of NRC. Big lad who seemed to acquit himself well.
I assume that, unlike Sheminant, he's not a contracted player and therefore would tend not to be in the frame for inter-state games?
According to Inforcers latest list, Sheminant is still not contracted for next year.
I did watch Hardman and thought he was OK for a club player stepping up a level and starting the game.
Clearly our best tighthead is Longbottom who is a beast, but he does seem injury prone. I saw him in a leg brace a few weeks ago and the interview he did, after signing for next year, he was sitting down behind a gym machine. So I doubt we will see in NRC this year.
The Perth Gold pack murdered both SA and NSW in the scrums in NRC II. Maybe there is a tighthead there, who can step up as a reserve for our last few NRC games.
