Upper Great Southern Shootout Result
The 2007 Great Southern Rugby season opener was unfortunatly forfeited by Narrogin who were only able to feild a side of 10 players. In the spirit of WA Country Rugby the two teams went on to play a neat game of 10 a side rugby(30min halves).
As predicted the game was played hard in the forwards, But when it got out the Katanning backline got some great oppertunities to run the ball, looked very dangerous with ball in hand and used the open spaces to full advantage.
The Narrogin forward pack hammered away all day camping just outside there tryline for minutes at a time witch really put the Krushers defence to the test but the persistance of the Narrogin pack payed off with tries from the front and second rows.The Final result was not important as it was a forfiet from Narrogin but.... Narrogin 24 -Katanning 30.
All in all Rugby Won on the day, Katanning walked away with the points and a win in the 10's.
