The Cauliflower Club is a registered charity founded by Peter Fitzsimmons and Nick Farr-Jones whose fundamental aim is to help people with disabilities, particularly those caused by rugby injuries through the provision of recreational and rehabilitative facilities. The secondary aim is to force the Backs to acknowledge the many positive manly attributes, sacrifices, scar tissue inducing commitment, and courageous actions made by the Forwards in making the Backs look good.
Money is raised through an annual subscription along with “fines” paid by our members (as an optional donation) for every try scored by a Wallaby forward player in a test match. As such, membership does not necessarily cost very much! This is a similar concept to the Primary Club in cricket (in fact the Cauliflower Club is part of the Primary Club). Tickets for Thursday’s launch are $100 and that includes membership of the club, a cap, food and drinks.
