Talking of gross mismanagement, a beady-eyed member of the Sea of Blue page on Facebook found this article from Feb 2014 that contains some gems from Clarke and Puller........

So deluded that plan was
I love this in the comments by Jim from Sydney: "And as usual the team that will get shafted the most is the poor old western force. Who have been neglected since day 1. Why bother even have the Force in the comp, to just be the also rans. The Force should be allowed more foreign imports 5-8 not developmental foreign imports in the hope they may become wallabies, given more wallabies, it goes on and on. "

"The Australian Securities and Investments Commission is hoping to reach a decision soon on whether to take further action against Rugby Australia in line with recommendations made by a Senate inquiry.
The Senate inquiry was set up primarily to investigate how Rugby Australia — then known as the Australian Rugby Union — reached its controversial decision to axe Western Force in an effort to save the cash-strapped code and so ensure the other four teams become competitive again in Super Rugby.
In the course of its investigations,*however, the inquiry concentrated heavily on the ARU’s financial dealings with the other club named as being on the endangered list, Melbourne Rebels."
.....
"An ASIC spokesman told*The Weekend Australian*yesterday that the matter was being investi*gated. “We did note the recommendations and we’re currently considering the matter,” he said. “We would hope to respond as soon as possible, not too long from now.”
That man Nick Taylor has released another 'leaked' email in todays Sunday Times. Not in the digital version yet.
Detailed email between ARU legal counsel Richard Hawkins, VRU Tim North and Bill Pulver. Hawkins wanted an amendment to the Put Options because it did not meet their goals......etc etc
Read it a the coffee shop, don't have a copy with me (thought it would be on line) some very specific details etc a month before the Force were cut.
I see the Reds have got rid of Cooper with two years left on his deal I hope he goes after a pay out or a transfer fee
There is such a thing as a transfer fee when a player is on contract at a club then is released to a new club is agreed e.g Houston leaving Bath to go the Reds. Bath were entitled to ask for a transfer fee so they aren't out of pocket.
Here is the link to report the RA to the ATO

I assume by transfer fee he means buying out the previous overseas contract?
