It's alignment for cricket is crap too. Straight boundaries are very short compared to square of the wicket. Also, if it rains, play is called off, no roof.

I couldn't see 80,000 being feasible for Perth. In regards to Cricket my concern is the pitch. Don't want Perth to lose its character due to a venue change and a drop in. With tests batsmen might get carried away like they did at Adelaide before they turned it in to a Baseball stadium with the short boundaries square of the wicket. Overseas batsmen have forgotten to hit straight in Australia and might get sucked in to at Perth.
