At least 4 games in Perth!!

Excellent! Looking forward to the NRC again this year.
Only 1 of our games is going to be televised though. All the other teams have at least 2 games televised. That's crappola!!!
McGillivray was comfortably our best crowd last year so it will be interesting to see if that can be sustained over 4 games.
I also notice Melbourne has shifted out of AAMI Park and North Harbour's given up its Brookvale experiment after one year.
A few adjustments were inevitable as experience was gained and lessons learned. Was hoping the same might have been true of the ARU, but the signs aren't good so far.
A bye in the lest round to rest up for finals, how the hell did they let that one slip by!
Not quite. Greater Sydney Rams only have one game televised, too, while North Harbour and Queensland Country get 3 games televised. Not sure North Harbour and Queensland Country are the biggest teams in the comp (possibly two of the smaller teams in terms of support). They'll just have to make the final again, if they want TV exposure!
Also only Thursday games televised.
Given the game start times are done for Fox Sports as witnessed by some pretty early start times this Super Rugby season I think it's a good thing we don't have any home game that are going to be televised given that would mean a 5pm kick off time on a Thursday afternoon.
The games that were televised last year didn't rate very well so I guess Fox isn't inclined to fork out for the rest of them. Shame really given they don't have a lot of live sport in September as the NRL is purely on Channel 9/Gem as it's the finals series and their AFL coverage halves for the same reason.
Probably a good thing given the coverage of the Brookvale playing surface on the east coast this year.

SPIRIT TO PLAY ALL HOME MATCHES AT McGILLIVRAY OVAL
The Perth Spirit will make McGillivray Oval at the UWA Sports Park its spiritual home in this year’s Buildcorp National Rugby Championship (NRC) hosting all its home matches at the central venue.
Perth will host four afternoon games across the Buildcorp NRC season, with the Spirit taking on the North Harbour Rays (Saturday, 29 August), the UC Vikings (Saturday, 12 September), Melbourne Rising (Saturday, 26 September) and the NSW Country Eagles (Sunday, 4 October).
The Spirit’s first game will be a grand final re-match against Brisbane City in Brisbane on Thursday, 20 August, which will be live on Fox Sports from 5.30pm (AWST).
The Perth Spirit team will consist of Western Force players and prominent players from the Pindan Premier Grade, giving local players the opportunity to play alongside and against Super Rugby level players.
RugbyWA CEO, Mark Sinderberry said that McGillivray Oval is the perfect venue for community events.
“I think it was evident from the one NRC game last year and the two Western Force trial games earlier this year that McGillivray Oval is a fantastic venue for rugby,” he said.
“We want to continue to ‘fill the hill’ and create that great community atmosphere at all our games this year. It’s a central location, very family friendly and we really want to generate that terrific club and community feel.”
Sinderberry believes that the Buildcorp NRC competition is vital to the future of Australian rugby as it now provides players with a high level of rugby all year round.
“Having a third-tier competition not only provides additional playing opportunities for our Super Rugby players, but is a chance for our aspiring local players to stand out and try pave a way to a professional rugby career.
“We saw the benefits of the Buildcorp NRC in the Force this year, with players Kane Koteka and Ross Haylett-Petty going to make their Super Rugby debuts and Ammon Matuauto, elevated into the Western Force wider training squad after a standout Buildcorp NRC season.”

I reckon RugbyWA have made the right move. McGillivray is a decent option (just no grandstand is the only thing I'd note for now).
Brookie and AAMI (good venue) are probably a bit on the large side for NRC and probably spill a bit of cash to hire. - Morwell looks like a decent ground for the Rising but Kardinia Park is no good for rugby.
