The Bunbury Barbarians get mentioned in this week's Zoo Weekly under "The 10 Worst Teams in Australia Right Now!".
They come in 3rd, after their U18s 2nd team letting in an average of 56 points per game and scoring an average of 5 in the 15 games they lost. However, they did manage to win one.
1st goes to Wollondilly White Waraths, a women's rugby team in Sydney who failed to score a point last season and after 13 matches had let in over 1200 points. And they got a 237-0 drubbing to Paramatta.
2nd goes to Sydney Boys High, whose Firxt XV lost to Joeys 112-0 and forfeited the rest of their season.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Can i just say... as a huge Bunbury Barbarians fan, That as for the worst sporting team this year, our under 18s didnt have the best yr, but considering the majority of our boys are first year players, playing against boys who have grown up in jouior rugby, they have grown dramaticly.
As for our senior teams(one of which was pictured in the article insted of the U18s) They are far from the worst! Both were premiers last year, one in 4th grade, and the other in 6th grade. This year 6th grade went into 5th grade and finished of in 6th spot, and 4th grade finished in 3rd. Pretty good for a small town dnt ya think?
Oooh Rah the BarBars!
Bunbury is hardly a small town these days

Unfortunately that one win for the Under 18s was a bye, but dont tell Zoo that as they might have jumped a few places....
In their defence the Colts side only started last year as Under 19s and we were developing a pretty good squad then the age groups were changed to Under 18s so lost a lot of boys who had at least one seasons experience.... But I think most of the boys would be chuffed to get a mention in ZOO...
"The only trophy we won this day, was the blood and sweat we left on the pitch.... and it was enough"
"Rugby may have many problems, but the gravest is undoubtedly that of the persistence of summer."

When did ZOO ever let the truth get in the way of a story??
The Team is known nationally now where as before I doubt anyone would have heard of them![]()

What? No Meekatharra???
Always makes me laugh when you read in mags like ZOO these air headed new models who are quoted, "Yeah, I come from this small country town Mandurah, you probably haven't heard of it."
Waiting for one of them to say, "Yeah, I come from this small country town called Perth..."
Well done Bunbury, the only way is up (or is that down) I guess!
"Bloody oath we did!"
