they made a big thing of him being on the team - almost made me wonder if the Rebels are going to be stacked in some way

While I was in melbourne I saw a news report with Matt Cockbain (Rebels Senior Player) where he said the palyers do not yet know each other and have yet to meet let alone train together.

Most Melbournians I spoke to about the Rebels didn't know anything about it/them, and these were rugby fans!

Strange for a state that really "love their sport", hey Burgs!
