Christchurch - Crusaders flyhalf Dan Carter will mark a major milestone in the journey to bring the Crusaders back home on Friday, by kicking the first ball over the goal posts at the new Christchurch Stadium.
According to the allblacks.com website, with just nine days to go until the first Super Rugby game at the new stadium, it is nearing completion.
The turf is down, seating is in, lights have been tested, and field markings are in place.
The installation of the goal posts on Friday is another major step towards the Crusaders having a home stadium again. Carter will join construction staff at the stadium to help guide the goal posts into position, and will then do the honour of kicking the first ball over the posts.
When the Crusaders take on the Cheetahs on March 24 it will be their first game in Christchurch since May 2010.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
He's not Jonny Wilknson, so he won't blame the ball.........I dunno
