    Cheetahs hunt down Sharks

    Cheetahs 31 Sharks 6

The Cheetahs produced a huge upset when they beat the table-topping Sharks 31-6 in an all-South African Super 14 match in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

The Cheetahs, who had lost their first seven matches, put on one of their finest performances with four unanswered tries for their first win in this season's competition.
    REST

Doesn't that just typify this competition....??!

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

Good on 'em! Here's hoping they can do this for the rest of the season, could be real useful for us if they take out the Cheifs, Waratahs, Crusaders, Bulls - even just the home games (Waratahs, Chiefs)

Wasn't this the first one? I know they had there first 6 or 7 games away from home. That just isn't fair.

That has to be my favourite game of the season. First win of the season for the Cheetahs and against non other than the Sharks. My Dad is spewing, he has tipped against the Sharks every single week and for the Cheetahs every single week but this week he thought 'Nup' and went the other way round

Cheetahs were amazing! they turned up, they defended well, and the Sharks had the mentality that they had already won it before the game began. just because you are at the top doesnt mean the bottom team has more energy and more motivation to win!! well done Cheetahs!

They are just a different team in Bloemfontein.

This is the team with so much Currie Cup success remember.

What isn't fair? That that's only their second home game or... something else?

Nice work by the Cheetahs, Super Rugby has to work something out for them next season 7 away games in a row is pretty rough and the travel would take its toll. I dont think any other team has to do that

First 7 games are away from home, that's not really fair.

2 years ago they would have played thier 7 away games at the end of the year, how is 6 home games straight to start the year fair either?

Neither is fair it's a home and away comp granted but no team should have either the advantage or disadvantage of that amount of home or away games in a row.

The travelling time mixed with fatigue is what every other team has to deal with as well.

Surely 7 losing away games to start a season puts you in a strangish mindset and could be hard to come back from.
