Alrite just thought id throw this out there see whats happening with country rugby?
Since I have moved on from Dev Officer role in SW to cushy govt job in bunno Im playing for the Barbarians and havnt caught up too much on rugby in the regions?
From a Bunbury POV coming off two premierships last year we have nominated for a Under 18's side this year after the splitting of colts ages. We actually have more Under 20's at the club but they will play seniors and we will use under 18's as dev for juniors to step up to seniors! Seniors have nominated for 3rd's and 5th's but rumour has it this has been denied by RugbyWA.
Apparently there is a talk of a Bunbury SW team starting but is being run as a seperate club of which the barbarians have been told to stay away from?
Bridgetown are starting hopefully so may be decent comp in SW next year with five teams playing!!
Any further updates appreciated....
great southerns comp has been split into 2 with the first half being 10 a side matches untill 3 weeks before Country Carnival and then 15 a side after that
this is purly to get the likes of kojonup off the ground
this realy is a step sidways instead of forwards.

yeh i think they are running the same in the SW with the same idea to get the new teams started....
im not too sure about that 5-6 weeks of 10s may be bit too long but see how it goes...
have you had much idea of how the kojunup team has affected katanning numbers yet?
So when does the season start?
Are the Numbats playing any games?
The season starts with the Mt Barker 10's on the 29th of March. Tis true that Bridgetown have joined the southwest comp, so that is great for southwest rugby and the promotion of the game in the southwest.
Hopefully we will have a junior comp comprising of teams from Margaret River, Busselton and Dunsborough.
I fear a Dungbeetle has become a Baba. Is that you Callan?
Your fears are well founded Leon hahaha
