who would have guessed. I hope that he manages to help himself and others from now on. Depression is a killer and support and understanding of family and friends is what is needed.

Hats off to Ben Tune for having the courage to discuss his battle with depression.

It would be good to see this article receive more attention as it is very deep and highlights perfectly the battle that people with depression face it may well act as a source of inspiration to those who are currently battling the condition and those who may well be facing it but haven't had it diagnosed yet. Who knows how many people an article such as this from Ben Tune could save!
There was a feature in Rugby League Week a couple of weeks ago after the annual players poll said that 1 in 5 NRL players had suffered some sort of depression.
That doesn't really surprise me. I have a rather strong suspicion that people with personality traits that are predisposed towards depression are really suited to elite sports. That and the constant exercise keeps any early depressive symptoms at bay.
