    Exclamation A Proper Rectangular Stadium!

"I want to thank you for your wonderful support, the "Sea of Blue" has been awesome. You're like no other Super 14 crowd - it's one of the reasons why coaching the Force is such a privilege and why I have just re-signed as coach for four more years."

"We've taken big steps this year, and now that I'm coming back I hope you'll be back for the new exciting phase. However it's critical for the future of Super 14 rugby in Western Australia and also for the performance of our team that we play in a proper rectangular stadium - I repeat a proper rectangular stadium and thats why we need your help."

"With your support we can make this happen."

"So watch this space. In the next week or so we'll be in touch and thanks again for your support - it's great."

    John Mitchell

There's a pic of a Proper Rectangular Stadium on the Rugby WA website. 'Tis a thing of Great Beauty *sniff*

No. I wasn't watching, so much as just having the TV on in the background so I may have this wrong, but I'm sure one of the the news reports specifically stated no money has been set aside for Members Equity, or that previously allocated money had been withdrawn...

    Members Equity - Budget

    Details of the project:

"Members Equity Stadium redevelopment – a decision to proceed with this project has been deferred pending the Government’s consideration of recommendations by the Major Stadia Taskforce."

Doesn't seem that's it's totally been scrapped - though in government speak, it may mean the same thing!

In the absence of the final report, just been looking through the interim report - all very depressing from a rugby point of view. No wonder RWA is preparing themselves for a fight.

I suppose we'll ever understand the machinations of our pollies. The current "boom" seems more sustained then It's predecessors. They have almost finished the railway, started the freeway extension to Bunbury and built a new hospital among a host of projects pretty much debt free so far. Or at least with only a small deficit.

I know these types of projects take higher precedence than stadia with many taxpayers. But there's probably a majority in favor so why not get them done ASAP while the money's around?

Then link the rail trunks so everyone can get there quickly while they're at it.

I was reading about the WA Budget in the Fin Review today. It seems that the ME Stadium redevelopment is 1 of 5 projects that have been suspended or delayed 12 months or more.

Eric Ripoff has pulled the 25 mil that was planned for the 1st stage of the re-development of ME pending the submission of the report from the major stadia task force which is due within a day or so. I don't think that we are going to get anywhere unless we dig our heels in collectively and protest as a group: ie Rugby union, league and football (round ball) to get a proper rectangular stadium that serves the purpose, so come on people let's get it on!!!!

JohnBoy, I couldn't agree with you more. I think that we need to start contacting the other "Rectangular Stadium user" supporters groups and present a united front.

The time has come for the supporters of Rugby in Western Australia to come together and let the Western Australian Government know exactly what we want and when we want it.

I think its time that the collective members of TheWholeForce started to become a bit more vocal in the wider community.

Coach Mitchell has asked for our help.
