    Post Brumbies snare young Reds

As the Queensland Reds continue to lock down the players that delivered them this year's Super Rugby title, the ACT Brumbies are set to confirm they have poached two of the Reds' youngsters, Ian Prior and Kimami Sitauti.
The Reds announced yesterday they had re-signed their two Cinderella-story back-rowers, Beau Robinson and Radike Samo, on two-year deals.

A former NSW Waratah, Robinson was playing amateur rugby and working in a bar before he was called up to Reds duty this season, while veteran and former Brumby Samo was winding down his career in club rugby last year when he was elevated during a Reds injury crisis.

The efforts of both players have been rewarded with selection in the Wallabies' extended World Cup squad.

For Fijian-born Samo, who turned 35 on Saturday, this year has wound back the clock to 2004 when he won a title with the Brumbies and burst into the Wallabies for the first of his six caps that year.

''Winning a Super Rugby final is something you never forget and there are some exciting times ahead for the Reds,'' Samo said.

''It was good to be part of this season and the boys are looking forward to playing together again next year.''

Fringe Reds 20-year-olds Prior and Sitauti will chase similar success with the Brumbies over the next two years.

The club will announce both signings today. Prior sat on the bench 11 times and earned six caps for the Reds this season.

But with Wallabies scrumhalf Will Genia entrenched there, he has opted to battle Nic White for the vacated Brumbies No9 jersey next season.

Sitauti is uncapped for Queensland and has been heavily involved with the Australian Sevens program.

At 185cm and 95kg, he will provide another sizeable wing option for new coach Jake White next year.

I can understand that there is an embarrassment of talent at the Reds already...

the Brumbies were chasing Luke Morahan pretty hard earlier in the season, but he re-signed for 2, i guess they moved onto Sitauti then.

He plays a different style of game, more like a centre, but i havent seen him play for a while so i wont comment to much.

I had been hoping for a while that they might snag Luke Morahan, I guess he'll just have to enjoy his bench time at the Reds next season...
