    Reds-V-Chiefs Result

What a guts effort. After looking like opening right up early, the Reds tightened their defense and pressured the Chiefs into error. Gradually getting back into the game they ground away to gradually take the lead and hung on grimly to scrape home 23-18. Braid was outstanding.

Quade Cooper kept them in touch with his goal kicking after doing an early impression of a turnstile. I think that may be because he was born in NZ. I'm not really sure as the commentators weren't too clear about that. Sivivatu must be a Kiwi though, he was never mentioned as being born in Fiji. Muliaina, Lauaki, Taumalolo?

Great game, watched under very heavy pain medication though.

Self belief. The reds don't have the cattle they could have but they didn't quit and played their hearts out.

Can we praise Ewen for bringing this to them?

Smart game by the Reds, they did what we should have, starved the backs of possession, and when they did have the ball they had a rush defence in their faces.....

I started watching thinking we were looking a chance next week, but now I'm not so sure. Hopefully David Hill will provide enough experience and guts to tip the balance.

    Go Reds!

The Reds got a man sin-binned and it seemed the catalyst for them to pick up their game. They out-played the Chiefs for the next 10 minutes (scoring 6 points) and when back up to strength the Chiefs just didn't have an answer.

Great heart from the Reds - after some poor seasons they're looking like they belong in the top half of the table (and maybe more).
