Brumbies coach Andy Friend was left brimming with confidence after the completion of the squad's five-day training camp at HMAS Creswell.
The players were yesterday put through a gruelling beach session by Creswell's physical trainers which included boxing, medicine ball exercises and canoe races.
It was nothing like the Brumbies usual Griffith Oval surrounds and that's exactly how Friend planned it.
He wanted to integrate the Wallabies squad members back into the Brumbies fold and ensure the team was focussed on the same goal the Super 14 season.
The South Coast excursion was the first time Friend had worked with Stirling Mortlock, Adam Ashley-Cooper, George Smith and Stephen Moore.
''It was absolutely fantastic down there,'' Friend said after he arrived back in Canberra yesterday.
''We went down there with the idea to build on what we had already done and continue to develop and we did exactly that.''
With team bonding sorted and new plays to study, the squad now turns its attention to its first trial match against the Wellington Hurricanes on January 30.
While on camp the Brumbies decided on their new style of play for the season and also came up with six outcome-based goals.
Friend and the coaching staff will review the goals and reduce the list before the first trial match.
