Local Rugby, Round 1 Review

OK folks, who's prepared to give us the wisdom of their predictions and knowledge?

And who's put in their selections for this round? I'd like a bit of competition! When last I looked there were only half a dozen entrants.

Baysie will beat Rocky ( if last week result against the Roo dogs are anything to go by)
Wanneroo will beat the Kala Bulls even though they lost against Baysie because I don't think Elwee showed all his cards against Bayswater
Nedlands will struggle against Cotts but should win
Uni Will beat West because they always do good in the beginning
Pally should make it against Soaks

Gunny, like most Nedlands supporters, you'd take credit for anything!

I'll have you know this little black duck won the tipping competition last year, and the year before that, and the year before....

I think you'll find that Gunny won in 2010, and Johnex won in 2009.

Although in 2009, Johnex failed to collect his prize, so it was awarded to you - think we swapped the case for a ticket to the pre-season game. If memory serves, you couldn't make it, and Gunny ended up scoring it

I saw the biggest centre ive even seen at Baysies last night...
U18 maori man mountain ... think SBW but taller.... the guy was massive.. be interesting to see how they go this year with him on board...

Baysie Vs Rocky
Baysie were terrible in the pre-season comp & unless they have found some players i would expect a developing Rocky team to get home.

Roo dogs Vs Kala
Probably the game of the round with both sides showing some good form in the pre-season matches. My pick is Roo dogs but if Kala get their side to side plays running the big Roo dogs pack will struggle to keep up.

Neddies Vs Cott
Both sides will be missing their big guns due to the Force A match so club depth will be tested early season. I'll be backing Neddies but they are not known for their early season form and it will be a close one.

Uni V's Wests
Uni have done well winning the pre-seson comp. But i think thats probably the best team they can put on the park and will start the season in form but will fall away as the season progress's. Still i beleive they will have the confidece & point scoring ability to put West's to the sword.

Paly V's Soaks
Will be a tough battle but Paly will have too much fire power for the hard working Soaks outfit.

I watched Curtin play Baysie in the pre season comp & although Baysie were woeful I though Curtin were quite impressive. Go the Goats !!!!!!!!!!!

You should at least have a first grade, a second grade. one U18 and one U20 team to be a rugby club worth mentioning.

yep! the goats have a colts team this year that should be able to score tries

We had a pre-season match against Kala (not sure of the grade 3rds or 4ths) and the boys went pretty well, was played in.... 5x15min... quarters??

Should be a good season for the goats!
