The match between the Force and touring Japanese Corporate team Toshiba ,scheduled to be played at Joondalup Arena on Saturday the 15th July, has been removed from that venue. This is confirmed on the This Perth Life website but curiously has not been officially notified on the Force site.
It is understood that the fixture will now be played at Tompkins Park Alfred Cove, the picturesque home ground of the Palmyra Club as an afternoon fixture following the Palmyra - Kalamunda first grade Game.
Tompkins Park has been assessed as the only acceptable venue of sufficient standard to be capable of hosting the event outside of the State's main arenas, which are unavailable or cost prohibitive.
Palmyra's grounds will also be the venue for two other important matches, the Wednesday evening Games between the Force Academy and Toshiba on the 12th July and a game against the powerful Yamaha team on the 16th August.
It is not known why Joondalup is no longer the prefered venue. This Perth Life refers to the game being "cancelled", which is clearly not the case, and Rugbywa and the Force have made no official statement.
It could be due either to contractual problems, problems with the condition of the playing surface, or political issues involving the West Perth Australian Rules club whose home ground is Joondalup.
Or it could be that nobody wants to travel that far!
Did you have anything to do with this Fulvio, i know you`re anti north of the river....Maybe a little bit of sabotage, hehehehe
I wish I had that power! I am about as popular at Rugbywa as George Bush at an El Quaeda conference or Rick Boyd at a Palmyra fan club meeting.
And honest Frontrow, I am not anti North; some of my best friends live there. I've even invited some into my home.
In earlier posts some Joondies on this site were having a bit of fun at Happy and my expense, just returning the favour. As you know, taking the piss and not taking ourselves seriously is part of Rugby culture!

Arena's website doesn't have much to say about it either http://www.arena.wa.gov.au/news.php?newsid=1006 but they have confirmed the August 12 match to be held there..
Will the 1st div fixture at Tmpkins Park on the 15th July be move forward or stay with the 3:05pm kick off? There's a Wallabies v South Africa match on at 6:00pm Perth time...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.

My information is that the first grade (and other games) are being moved forward so that the Force game finishes in daylight. In any event Pally have Foxtel and a big screen so the Test match will be shown live for those who can't make it to JB's.
I played for Paly as well Fulvio, With Gary Mickle, around 7 yrs ago,so i know what the boys are like down south of the river. And, you are dead set correct, if we can dish it out, then we can cop it back, and as you can probably guess, my comments were toungue in cheek as well. I love this site `cause we can take the piss out of each other in the knowledge that it is in jest ( well, apart from Rick Boyd) hehehehe
You invited them into your home?????Taking a bit of a risk there mate, eh
Excellent stuff!Originally Posted by fulvio sammut

Well that rules me out going, now it is an afternoon fixture, as I will be at Rushton Park till 5:00pm.
Anyways good to see the northerners being such good sports about it being moved to the premier side of the river.
