Actually, believe it or not, these guys were not recruited but turned up wanting to play for what they obviously consider is a top club.

And the guys we had last year had enough heart to end up second on the ladder and beat every other side in the competition, most of them twice.

The players we lost from last season were not "recruits"but had been with the club for two years or more, and most left to advance their career internationally.

Apart, of course, the one who was purchased by Associates and the four who were promised "superior" coaching by Western Force staff moonlighting at University, with the implicit understanding that they would thereby be a shoe in with the Academy and the Force.

But that inducement was offered to a whole heap of borderline players from most clubs by a desperate University anxious to halt their slide into oblivion. I believe they now have the greatest collection of disillusioned dreamers in the competition.

Good luck tonight Goony, but I don't think you'll need it!

Both Baysie, Prems and Seconds teams won convincingly. I am not sure about the U/20 though

what started off as a typical scratch match soon turned into a spectacle as baysie dominated uni in all areas of play. im a bit worried about uni as they have all these supposed "superstar" backs but cant even field a front row... thats not good news, without the ball the prized recruits are useless. well its almost time for the real thing and just quietly im feeling pretty confident!!
