Gallop's taunt the ultimate hypocrisy

IT is the height of hypocrisy for rugby league officials to accuse rugby administrators of failing to develop their own players because they have poached players from the 13-a-side code.
Sure, in the past seven years the ARU has recruited several rugby league players, including Wendell Sailor, Mat Rogers, Lote Tuqiri, Berrick Barnes, Ryan Cross and Timana Tahu.
Rugby league officials have conveniently forgotten 100 years of raping and pillaging of the Wallabies, dating back to Dally Messenger.
Was rugby league ignoring its own development when it poached Trevor Allen, Rex Mossop, Arthur Summons, John Brass, Phil Smith, John Ballesty, Peter Sullivan, Phil Hawthorne, Russell Fairfax, Stephen Knight, Mitchell Cox, Michael O'Connor, Ricky Stuart, Ray Price, Tony Melrose, Tony D'Arcy, Ken Wright and Scott Gourley?
And rugby league scouts had a really good go at Mark Loane, Paul McLean, Mark Ella, David Campese, Simon Poidevin, Tim Horan and Jason Little, who turned them down.
