I had a great night last Saturday at the Bledisloe Cup game.
I saw a great game of Rugby, caught up with Ex in person for the first time, and also spent a night having a beer or six with my son who lives in Sydney.
I'd like to take the opportunity to publicly thank Ex for making everything go so well. Apart from getting me the tickets he also worked out a cunning scheduling of watering holes both inside and outside the stadium, so we were always one step ahead of the crowd and had Bundys and beer in hand with no effort and no waiting in line.
Our seats were pretty good, and Ex was excellent company and as nice a bloke in person as he is online.
As for the atmosphere, it was terrific. We were surrounded by as many Kiwi supporters as Aussies, and whilst the Kiwis were disappointed, they took it in their stride and took our (my) bullshit in good friendly spirit. It taught me a thing or two about losing gracefully,on reflection, and that's something I suppose I should have already learned this season.
