Rory Kockott and Josh Valentine have been cited in the wake of round 12 of the Super 14, while a number of others have had their disciplinary hearings on Sunday.

Kockott was red-carded by match referee Phillip Bosch for striking Highlanders flank Adam Thomson in the 76th minute of the match.

The hearing will take place at the offices of the KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union in Durban.

That's been a busy office, after the cases against Highlanders duo Daniel Bowden and Clint Newland were heard on Sunday.

Bowden has been banned for one week for foul play, following his team's 15-23 loss to the Sharks at the weekend, but prop Clint Newland was cleared on a charge of punching.

Bowden was cited for a dangerous (high) tackle on Sharks centre Riaan Swanepoel in the 35th minute of the second half.

Bowden received a yellow card for the offence and pleaded guilty to the charge.

The defence argued that a yellow card was sufficient punishment, but the Judicial Officer imposed a one-week suspension up to and including May 9.

The suspension means Bowden will miss the Highlanders' match against the Lions in Johannesburg on Friday.

Tighthead prop, Newland, was cited for striking Sharks prop Tendai Mtawarira in the first half of the match.

Newland was found not guilty by the Judicial Officer and the citing was dismissed.

Force scrum-half Josh Valentine was cited for a dangerous tackle in a Super 14 match against the Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday.

The citing related to a spear tackle on Bulls scrum-half Fourie du Preez in the first half of the match.

Valentine will appear before a SANZAR Judicial Officer in Cape Town on Tuesday.
