It was an early start for the Emirates Western Force on Tuesday morning as they arrived at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital at 6.00am to cook a barbeque breakfast for the hardworking Emergency Department staff.
The Emirates Western Force squad served up a feast of bacon, eggs and sausages for the doctors and nurses at the ED as a small token of thanks for their tireless efforts in saving lives in the WA community.
The boys were taken on a tour of the Emergency Department and even met a few Emirates Western Force fans amongst the patients.
Emirates Western Force team doctor Mike Cadogan is a Senior Emergency Physician at SCGH and many of the players have experienced firsthand the fantastic treatment of the staff.
Nathan Sharpe said it was a great opportunity for the players to thank the hardworking professionals at the hospital for their contribution to the community.
“We know how hard the doctors and nurses here work,” said Sharpe.
“Playing rugby we’ve all needed medical treatment at some point so it’s great to be able to do something for them to say thanks for all their efforts.”
