Expansion club North Queensland Fury has been controversially axed from the A-League after just two seasons in the competition.
Club owner Football Federation Australia (FFA) announced the decision after chief executive officer Ben Buckley and A-League boss Lyall Gorman met with Fury representatives in Townsville this morning.

Odd to have an 11 team competition (but I suppose we have 15!). 10 or 12 seems a much more easily organised competition. I wonder how quickly the "12th franchise" will now be awarded.
Or someone else flushed....?
Could be an opportunity for a league player willing to convert....
