    Cummins' dreams dashed by injury

    9th October 2009
A long-awaited dream will be put on hold until at least June for former Bundaberg East Coast Buccaneers player Nick Cummins.

According to Nick's brother Luke, Wallabies coach Robbie Deans sat down with the Western Force winger and “pencilled him in” for the first two matches of the Wallabies Spring Tour of Japan and Europe.
But a demoralising foot injury during training has forced the speedster out of Deans' initial plans, and shattered the 22-year-old's Wallabies dream.
“He's devastated really, considering he was told he was playing the first two, locked in, and then to get injured - but now he's intent on getting fit for his next opportunity in June,” Luke Cummins said.
The Wallabies' first game is against the All Blacks in Tokyo on October 31.

“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

Poor Nick. But he's young - plenty of time to heal up well and get back into it.

Holy crap, when I saw the title, I thought he was OUT until June!

Hopefully we'll get him for a stack of S14!

The Cullet will return. A huge Super 14 season is on the cards.
(Sigh of relief as I thought the same thing as GIGs, at first)

its a bit of a worry, if its the same as horwills injury then its a long healing process, and i imagine getting runninc practice is a bit more important for a winger then it is a lock, hope he is back in time to play a fair chunk of the season
