Rumour has it that RugbyWA are once again doing things that just does not make sense
For some reason they want to split up the senior comp on certain weekends with some teams playing sudays and some teams playing friday nights and some teams playing on Satrdays This will mean that if a club has a home game they will have to set up the fields twice that weekend this means that the volunteers will have to spend 2 days at the club compared to just the Saturday as it used to be
Does anybody have more details regarding this
Hasn't that happened a few times over the last couple of seasons? e.g Paly 2nds & 1sts at home under lights on the Friday night and the rest of the fixture on the Saturday at the same venue?
The Friday night/Saturday thing is nothing new. The Saturday/Sunday thing is, if true.
Do you think it would be a good idea to wait on the draw coming out before slagging off RugbyWA. Team nominations are not usually finalised until end of Feb early Mar. Prem grade and 2nds are out in draft, but no 3s or 4s yet.
And as Ecky says.... club's request to have Friday night games and in the past they take place with the mutual agreement of both clubs....
As far as I know:
Round 1 will be played on sunday
Round 5 on a Friday 1st & 2nd only
Round 8 on a Sunday
3 rounds isn't too bad, but really most of the games should be played on saturdays. Having teams playing on different days causing all sorts of problems - the no 1 problem being loading of teams. This happens frequently with the Friday night games as it is.
Thanks Zed,
Do those dates for Rounds 1, 5 and 8 clash with home Force games??
That is have the comp games been moved to allow more people to get to both prem grade games and the Force.

Yes I think they do and yes more people can go to the games but what about the poor old club committees who have to put in extra work and some players who would have to front up two game days as well

No. The Prem and Res draws are out. The draft is the draw and clubs have not requested the Friday and Sunday games. They are being told to play them. But watch this space. I hear there are rumblings about this and other issues in club land
If only Rumour Monger hadn't been banned from this site; I'm sure he'd know the answers to these questions.
Yeah, but I am sure he can find another Project.
What is your suggestion Wholetruth....
Prem grade games should be scheduled to conflict with Force games or maybe the Force should forfeit games in order to avoid conflict with the local comp??
I was led to believe that RugbyWA presented three alternative draft Prem grade draws to the clubs taking into account Force games, byes, theTest and long weekends etc.... and asked for feedback on the one the clubs preferred and the draft draw was the one the clubs preferred.....
None of the lower grade draws have been put out yet.
Bring back Rumour Monger.
It was good to have some debeate around issues. At least his dribble brought out some good points from other posters
Less censorship
Yes- his negativity of everything wa metro rugby was second to none!
