Auckland Blues and ex-Brumbies coach David Nucifora has ruled himself out of the race to succeed Eddies Jones as Wallabies head coach.{br}{br}View the Entire Article{br}
Wow... If Eddie Jones applied for the job he might just get it by default.
Ha ha, was starting to think the same thing myself this morning Sage!
Maybe the ARU are starting to wonder if they took the right course?
Maybe I could apply. I don't have any experience but I figure that my opinion has been the same as millions of other rugby supporters for years, I must know something. Plus I'd be one of.. what, two Aussies going for the job?![]()
It got me thinking that something must have happened to make McKenzie, Fisher and Nucifora all drop out in a 24 hour period.... Not that Fisher really counts, he just goes with the flow.
What?... Oh you're all going to get munchies? Yeah hop in the combi' I'll drive.
I just reckon they want to save face by not being known as the bloke who lost to Connolly.
For Connolly not to get the Wallabies would be the same as for Mitchell to have been overlooked for the Western Force.
He is by far the best credentialled known contender and has his Aussie mates at Bath lining up to fill in the support roles. The experience he has gained in the Northern Hemisphere since Rod McQueen beat him to the role is a huge asset leading into France '07 and his success rate speaks for itself.
Unless someone pops out of the woodwork between now and cut off Friday the only reason he won't get it will be state politics dressed up by some new age spin doctoring.
QRU is the flavour of the month at ARU at the moment so that is unlikely too.
Knuckles at evens is a pretty fair bet I'd think.
