Fevola arrested on New Year's Eve
Controversial AFL player Brendan Fevola has been arrested during New Year's celebrations in Brisbane.
The Brisbane Lions player was detained over an incident in the city suburb of Fortitude Valley about 4.30am today.
Police confirmed that a 29-year-old Norman Park man has been charged with obstructing police and public nuisance.
A Brisbane Lions club official later confirmed that Fevola was the person involved in the incident.
According to the Brisbane Times, Fevola was detained after he became aggressive and refused to cooperate with orders when approached by police.
The newspaper reports that Fevola remained in custody as of 10am (AEDT) but is expected to be bailed today.
He is due to face a magistrate's court on January 18.
