Hey guys,
I had this idea for an article for wearblue many months ago, but it just stayed on my hard drive, very much in note form and incomplete.
It's meant to be Eddie Jones' 2005 diary, done in a typical "Teenager style" diary. Unfortunatly I've had major writers block for this so I thought I'd post it here and see if anyone is willing to fill iin the blanks so to speak.
11/06/2005 INT Australia v Samoa Sydney
We played Samoa today. They put up a really good fight, but in the end we showed them how much class we had. George Gregan played a fantastic game, he kept the defense guessing all game, he's so talented. We're easily going to win the tri-nations this year and I am without doubt the best coach in the world.
25/06/2005 INT Australia v Italy Melbourne
02/07/2005 INT Australia v France Brisbane
09/07/2005 INT Australia v South Africa Sydney
23/07/2005 INT South Africa v Australia Durban
It's better that we had the loss before the tri-nations, besides it's just a loss. It's not like we're going to keep losing.
30/07/2005 TN South Africa v Australia Pretoria
13/08/2005 TN Australia v New Zealand Sydney
I told some of the guys that I'm thinking about welding an axe to scare them into playing better.
The ARU still loves me.
20/08/2005 TN Australia v South Africa Perth
I really am going to weld an axe now.
The ARU still loves me.
03/09/2005 TN New Zealand v Australia Auckland
Seriously, that axe is coming out and it's going to be welded.
The ARU still loves me.
5/11/2005 INT France v Australia Marseilles
Come on guys! I'm really not joking about the axe!
I did make a funny at the press conference though. Apart from saying that we're not far from being a good side. I used a cricket analogy to describe the loss and mainly used it because it would be hard to translate it into french.. Hehe, I'm so sneaky.
But the ARU still loves me.
12/11/2005 INT England v Australia London
If you take the scrum out of the equation, we played well.
The ARU still loves me.
19/11/2005 INT Ireland v Australia Dublin
F**k, finally.
The ARU still loves me.
26/11/2005 INT Wales v Australia Cardiff
The ARU still loves me.
02/12/05 Eddie Jones Sacked
I'll be coaching the Wallabies again.
I guess the ARU didn't love me...
11/01/06 Eddie Jones hires as Reds coach from 2007
The QRU loves me. The first thing I'm going to do is ask if toti kefu wants to play for the Reds. Hmm, I wonder what Nick Stiles is doing.
Any help would be sweet. I'd given up on this one (not the only one I've chucked in the bin which sucks) but stumbled across it tonight.![]()
How about suggesting Eddie is going to invite George to play for QLD? and how he would make the offer sound good to George

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Well that's the same offer as always, Eddie lets George make all the decisions...
