sounds like he has been turned in to a money making puppet, and is probably allowing it as he doesn't value himself as much anymore. All those years of using drugs have caught up with him, sad to see but there is a lot of these stories going around - just not all of them involve former sports icons.

I notice the writer of the article, despite his professed sympathy for the Moora Football Club, and how they have had to pay Cousins so much for so little, doesn't mention his own fee for MCing.

perhaps, though he may have done it for free. But it sounds like he has done the hard yards and earnt his fee perhaps??

I'm not sure why, but he is always talking about the Moora footy club on his radio show, and seems to care genuinely for them.

He delivered the service he was offering. No one put a gun to the clubs head and said he'll be the MC or else.

So why is he bitching about Cousins getting as much as he can get, for as little as he has to give, as well?

And he then has the hide to sell his lacrimonious crocodillian scribblings to his newspaper, to make even more money out of the misfortune sustained by the Moora Football Club in hiring not one, but two duds for their presentation evening.

Because he realised that in Cousins case the football club got screwed he didn't deliver the service being offered. The football club has no realistic way of rectifying their mistake, but you can have someone bitch about it in a newspaper.

What has Barry done to you? Or is it just journalists in general?
