England are preparing to renew their assault on the weakened Wallabies scrum on Saturday, after another front-row injury has left the host nation vulnerable.
Martin Johnson confirmed yesterday that Jonny Wilkinson has recovered from his back injury and is poised to return to training tomorrow, pushing for a place among the first Test replacements at the Subiaco Oval.
And as their old nemesis returns, Australia are having to grapple with a rapid de-powering of their pack. Brumbies prop Ben Alexander suffered knee-ligament damage against Fiji on Saturday, as Robbie Deans’s side won 49-3.

History
Twickenham, Nov 2005: England win 26-16 as Andrew Sheridan marks his full debut by systematically destroying
Australia’s scrum. Al Baxter is sin-binned for persistently collapsing in one of the biggest set-piece mis-matches ever
witnessed in a major Test.
Marseilles, Oct 2007: England are expected to be swept out of the World Cup by the Wallabies but win 12-10 with Sheridan leading another scrum onslaught. Hooker Mark Regan mercilessly taunts props Matt Dunning and Guy Shepherdson as they capitulate time and again.
Twickenham, Nov 2008: The Aussies win 28-14 with Baxter ending the criticism that has stalked him since 2005. In the first half, England apply the scrum pressure and the Wallabies get away with repeat collapsing. But then the tide turns as Australia win the ball against the head three times.

wtf.....how many different ways do we need to name a team??
1-15 seems rather simple
Hmmmm yes......looking for ways to make a meaningful comment on a team I know nothing about.
Hope we win!
C'mon the![]()

they needed to do it that way so their only meaningful player is at the top of the list![]()
Apart from the fact that it is the way all NH newspapers list players
the only name I recognise is Ugo who can be quite a handy winger - but is a bit of bad boy, am guessing England is really rebuilding wonder if they will manage a try or will it be the same old negative rugby.
3 Hodgson's on the field at one time for two different teams could be interesting.

Those backs are prety handy - Matt Tait, Armitage, Barkley, Monye, Hodgson (both!). The forwards aren't slouchs either. Should be a good game (What I'm hoping - really don't mind who wins either tonight or Saturday!)
BTW, I'm told Fourie really likes being reminded of his heritage!
Yeah, but hertryk, I'm still officially a pom myself. I have residency and will be going for citizenship, but the only passport I have at the moment is British.
Thought the outcome was perfect!
he drinks like an Aussie though!
Absolutely - Us Aussies gotta stick together...mate.
