i've been hearing whispers every once in a while but they seem to be getting louder that argentina want to start playing in the tri-nations (making it a four nations i guess) apprantly their government is starting to push for it. I guess it would help them become more competetive on the world stage so long as they got their first XV back from various clubs across Europe, because most of their rugby system is still amatuer i think.
Heard it is getting pushed quite hard by the IRB too. Given that they will merrily inflict travel on us, I hope the 6 nations is planning to show just as willing and incorporate Japan and Canada.
canada? thats to far. i think argies is too far away is a tradition the TRI nations. make another comp but ont compremise OUR comp
Why not a Pacific Comp with Arg, Canada and Japan, Samoi and Fiji and the US when they pick up
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Canada and the US are on a par around the 12th-14th mark but with huge potential.
With the inclusion of the European playersit would settle into two groups of three:
1. Argentina, Soa and Fiji
2. US, Canada and Japan.
Anyway:
I think the inclusion of los Pumas can only be a positive which would mean the same season as there would be two matches being played each round rather than one and a bye. With a mid way bye it would be over in seven weeks.
