Proving he is not afraid to make tough calls, coach Robbie Deans has opted for five-eighth Matt Giteau over Mortlock as the team's first-choice goalkicker for Saturday night's Test against Ireland at Melbourne's Telstra Dome.

I see this as a possible indication of Cross getting significant game time and possibly a we'll even see a new captain in the next few months.

Sorry but morlock isnt a joke, unless your talking about his goal kicking which is kind of a joke.

Mortlock is probably the best centre in the world right now. Seeing him live at subiaco a few weeks ago made me realise how good he is.

Agree Jazz, he is anything but. However, I just can't see the Wallabies playing a 34yr old OC in 2011, especially one that is already injury prone. It is great to have him when he is available (and even better to have alternatives), but I do think his time is coming and doubt that Aussie Bob will be particularly sentimental about it.
