Couldn't get a contract in union - might have been handy considering our current flyhalf issues...

Given that his Rugby career stretched from school first XV to 10 minutes as a centre for the schoolboys team, "couldn't" might be a stretch. Made his way to the Storm via Mungo schoolboys and Q Cup didn't he? Had Rugby offers when his last contract was up but opted for 5 more years in Melbourne. We could have done with his services at the time for sure.
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
He didn't play rugby league schoolboys, only rugby union schoolboys and wasn't offered a union contract following school.. The Melbourne Storm approached him in his first year out and placed him in the Q-Cup..
