    Pocock on the Move !

It may be late for some forum members but I was looking through the net and some paper in Brisbane strongly suggesting DP is heading to the Brumbies to link with Jake White. Any substnace to this or just someone fishing ?

It's the SMH - they're just deflecting attention away from their crappy season. Why would Pocock have such a big hand in coaching nd recruitment at the Force (as stated in the article) if he was intending to jump ship? He wouldn't be so presumptuous as to decide an ex-team's future! Would he???

Disturbance in the Force: Pocock set to jump ship

    THE INSIDE BACK

Chocula ... Anthony Watmough received two injections for a neck problem.
David Pocock looks set to walk out on the Western Force and link up with the Brumbies in a deal that could earn the openside breakaway up to $500,000 a season. Pocock has a strong relationship with coach Jake White, and is said to be desperate to play for a team capable of winning the Super Rugby championship. He is expected to confirm the move to the capital within coming weeks. White yesterday flew to Japan to meet good friend Eddie Jones, and was unable to be contacted last night. The move is a massive coup for the Brumbies and could go down as one of the greatest player developments in Super Rugby history - they lose new No.7 star Michael Hooper to the Waratahs and replace him with the world's best openside breakaway and Wallabies captain

That is one paragraph of speculation on the gossip column. A big pile of stinking cr@p.

I have said several times this weekend the number of shite stories coming out of Sydney is staggering, this is the fifth I think. Its not journalism, its intent is to drive an agenda and deflect real investigation into the real story, the Waratahs lack of performance and speculation on Foley

You'd hope he'd stay loyal - the reason he is part of the Wallabies squad (and captain) is because of the support of the Force

If he leaves life will go on ... Sure it's a loss but at least back row is an area we have some depth. Honestly as a captain I'm not sure he's the man. I think our financial and recruiting resources are better served getting some line breakers/ try scorers in the backs plus a top line out specialist.
Sacrilege to some on twf but it's getting pretty tiresome all this speculation. Commit or don't .. Just get on with it, so we know who we need to get in for next year.

Pocock has said its off the agenda until the coach has been sorted out. I believe him. This is nothing to do with him.

Give him a chance to become a good skipper. He needs experience.

    They are all mercenaries.

"Loyalty" has absolutely no meaning to the so-called professional rugby player of today.

Their sole purpose in life is to obtain as much material wealth as possible using rugby as the vehicle and by whatever means is necessary.

Aligning themselves with charities, products or particular teams etc is just part of the self promotion process.

They wouldn't place as much value on a Wallabies Cap as Wallabies of the past. In fact most would head for Europe or Japan for the cash than play representative rugby. Many have a mixed background and are using places like Australia as convenient places of residence without the deep emotional ties that traditionally we would expect from someone born and bred.

Their word has as much value as Greek currency - been numerous examples of player's deceitful behaviour in recent times.

The only player you could genuinely say is the real deal is Nathan Sharpe.

    Go Neddies.

This is possilby true - but I bet if you asked some reds fans who were old enough they were saying the exact same thing about "their" Sharpie in 2005.

Lets be realistic, Professional Sportsman have 15 years or so to earn as much money they can to set them up for the rest of their life. How they do that is entirely up to them.

Hodg, Brown, Charles, Cummins, Mafi and others I can't think of I'd say are true ocean blue.

They could've done an Auckland blues and just gone to Japan/France like half their squad are doing but they stuck around here with the organisation the way it is.
