Rebels can utilise talented trio: Macquee

    SMH-Rugby Heaven: Stathi Paxinos

THERE would be enough room in the Melbourne Rebels team next season for three quality playmakers with their two star recruits Kurtley Beale and now James O'Connor to play alongside incumbent five-eighth Danny Cipriani, outgoing head coach Rod Macqueen said yesterday.

The Rebels yesterday finally officially trumpeted the signing of O'Connor for two years after the Western Force last week cut off negotiations with the star Wallabies back. The 20-year-old utility will link with Wallabies teammate Beale, who will leave the NSW Waratahs for the Rebels next year.

Cipriani, who has been on the outer with team officials for part of the season because of off-field incidents, revealed he had been active in trying to lure O'Connor to Melbourne.

Jeez, that last would have to set of alarm bells wouldn't it? Beale (who's had issues with the squirt and will be away from home and family) and JO'C, being shown the ropes around Melbourne by Danny...

Their collective egos would destroy them. I can see it now, ' Wallabies 'superstar' involved in late night minileague stlye incident with Rugby bad boy Danny...'

    Good luck with that Rod.

JOC will hold up well. To be fair to the bloke, he never gets caught up in off field shizen. KB has been through it but has learned how to perform and the professionalism required.

The Rebels should sack the English wop. The commentators rave about the little sh1te but he's useless. He also creates team disharmony. He's a law unto himself. he doesn't have enough respect for the group to comply with team ethos. Not a team man. Cull!!!!!!!!!!!

There was that thing on the Gold Coast with JO'C, but from memory even then he came out of that pretty well...
