Argentina extended their strangle-hold over Scotland with a narrow 21-15 win in Rosario on Saturday evening. In so doing they also ensured a clean sweep of victories for the southern hemisphere sides over their northern hemisphere counterparts on the same day.

New Zealand and South Africa had both enjoyed victories earlier against Ireland and Wales respectively.

It was by no means a classic game of rugby and the purists out there will be shaking their heads in dismay at the amount of unforced errors, reset scrums and general scrappy play.

That said it was always going to be a tightly contested Test against two evenly matched teams. Argentina, without a number of their star players who led them to third place at the World Cup, took a 10-9 lead into the break.

It was the hosts who scored two tries to nil, but still trailed 13-15 late in the match.
