Du Preez doubt for Bulls

Bulls and South Africa scrum-half Fourie du Preez could be ruled out of the match against the Cheetahs this weekend after injuring a calf against the Force on Saturday.

Dr. Org Strauss said on Sunday that there is a chance that Du Preez has torn his calf muscle - precipitating a longer lay-off -but the extent of the injury will only be known on Monday afternoon.

Du Preez's Springbok team mate Wynand Olivier hurt his back as well as his leg against John Mitchell's team and although he may miss a session or two earlier in the week Dr. Strauss is optimistic that he will recover in time for the big South African derby.

The rest of the squad are all eligible for the clash against the Cheetahs and Bakkies Botha makes a welcome return to the group after he has served his three-week suspension.

couldn't he have had this injury BEFORE he played us. although whoever is playing them next, oh the cheetahs. well i was going to say maybe they can beat the Bulls but... you never know with the Cheetahs!

It's these end of season injuries which can change the fortunes of teams... Similar with the Blues and Ali Williams… Lote and the Tahs…
