Ben McCalman shoulder surgery

The injury news follows a disappointing medical report for Western Force No.8 Ben McCalman, who has been omitted from Australia's squad.

McCalman is expected to require shoulder surgery which will rule him out of the three-Test Welsh series plus Super Rugby.

You'd have to wager on it with shoulder surgery. He'd probably be behind Higginbotham and Palu by then anyway.

That is a bitter blow especially, with no quality locks (with Sharpie retiring soon), he could have been a great utility for the wallabies.

Palu maybe but Higginbotham was crap the other night and did not have an effect on the game at all.

Higgers is completely overrated, and disappears when it's time to put the hard yards in. He looks to have the physical profile, the talent and the ability to be a good international backrower. Just doesn't seem to want to.
