Pelesasa To Miss 2008 Investec Super 14 Season
Emirates Western Force centre Junior Pelesasa is expected to miss the 2008 Investec Super 14 season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Pelesasa suffered the injury in last weekend’s Mazda Australian Rugby Championship semi-final between the ET Perth Spirit and the Central Coast Rays in Gosford.
The 26 year old had a scan this week which confirmed the worst, and he will undergo knee reconstruction surgery later this month.
On holiday in Brisbane, Pelesasa said he was shattered when advised of the results of the scan.
“I wasn’t in too much pain and was walking OK so I was hopeful that the damage was minor,” he said.
“It’s a big blow because I enjoyed this year’s Super 14 and playing for Australia A and the Perth Spirit, and I was really looking forward to the 2008 Super 14 season,” he said.
“Now I’ve just got to focus on getting the knee right again in time for next year’s Australian Rugby Championship.”
bugger.
hope surgery goes well mate! and hopefuly see you on the park again soon

And no one believed me in chat...
Crikey there goes Johns plans to have Gits at 5/8th!!
Im guessing Hilgendorf will keep his spot at fly-half, and Gits will move back to first receiver, now that pelesasa is out
Lets hope Hilgy is fit! Can't remember how long he is expected to be out for...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Bugger, get well soon Junior. Hilgendorf tore his hamstring from the bone didnt he??
Dam and I saw Junior like just over a week ago at Inaloo and he was looking ready to go!
Is Lach injured? Would really like to see him in Force colours again.

Why are you following rugby players to the loo Shaun? Disgraceful

i think the prognosis was that hed be fit in time for preseason training.. but i could be wrong, sometime injuries have a strange way of ruining plans... just ask Johnny Wilkinson![]()
You ask this as if surprised!Originally Posted by Shaun

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
What a shame - Junior bought a lot to the team - hopefully he gets a quicker than expected recovery - hopefully that is the last of the injuries for the season can't loose to many from our star studded back line
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
I wouldn't be so sure- Mitch seems pretty keen to keep Henjak and Giteau in the halves- I'd imagine he'd play Mackay or Staniforth (god knows he wants to) at inside centre. Cross at outside and Sheps, Mitchell and Nick Cummins in the back three.Originally Posted by zimeric
