Something I've noted which is kind of interesting is that very few teams have reported player injuries from the trial matches. Some teams have had a few injured in training but compared to last year which saw a couple of season ending injuries in the trials (I remember the Waratahs copping it pretty bad) we've had relatively few. Interesting given the whopping great number of players out from the ARC. Hopefully the new laws in the Super 14 won't have such a negative impact on squads.
Good point James, although Boofs arm looked nasty, it wasn't too bad...Check out the gallery to see the wound, nice photo coach...
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....
Boof's arm injury was certainly not a result of the new laws.....just a bit of old-fashioned rucking.
CHEERLEADERS ROCK!!!
I love old fashion rucking,
"flashback to first game in WA" and i remember playing at cottesloe and getting caught on the wrong side of the ruck with my back to the opposition, i look over my shoulder and there is my opposite number grinning from ear to ear as he proceeded to ruck the bejesus out of my back...My jumper was soaked with blood, had to change it at halftime...After the game i had a ladder of bleeding ruck marks on my back, and i can tell you the shower afterwards was a painful one...

I loved the way Coach Mitchell answered on the Fox clip as to how Boof was....
was a VERY diplomatic way of something bad went on.
It's also surprising that the trials haven't produced many injuries....I remember the MARC being littered with broken bodies for much of the time! Possibly it was the Ruck ELVs which were the source of these problems, or maybe it was just that less experienced players were playing!

As surprising as it is, it good to see no major injuries comming out of the trial games. Hopefully the body count wont start rising once the season proper gets started

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
Reds are going to be in a similar boat. Their conditioning just doesn't seem up to par at the moment, Let's face it Blake is a friggin monster and has been selected a Wallaby, his technique seems to be pretty good (at least good enough to match Boof and give Pek a world of trouble, but he seriously lasted ten minutes....that's just crap. He'll go down in the first one or two games (Having looked at the fixture for them, he might survive up to round 4 but the stormers will finish him off if he isn't hurt before then) the same will happen for many of their forwards and they'll go the same way as last year.

One of the players said to Boof after training on Saturday "show em the shark bite Boof"
I would say there were at least four (4) knee injuries from the trial match on Saturday, no that it will effect the Force, but they do say they hate training/playing on the pitch at Rugby Park for this reason.
