What we want from the South African Tour:
Last year the Sharks finished top of the table with 45 pts and the Blues scrapped into the finals with 42pts
This means that to make the finals - which is our aim we need to be scoring an average of 42/13 rounds = 3.2 pts per round
or the minimum acceptable to start us on track for the finals is 10 pts from the Sth African Tour
How will we do this :
3 wins = 12 pts say the games against the Cheetahs and Lions are won with 4 tries each that would give us 2 extra bonus points and take the grand total to 14
So my guess is that we are aiming for 14 pts from this tour
Media: Last year there was nothing - this year updates will be available from:
CH 10 has sports reporter Cathy Price in Sth Africa guessing there will be nightly updates - John Mitchell likes her and is less shy of talking to her when compared to other journos
Sunday Times - has sent their rugby reporter Nick Taylor and photographer guessing that there will be regular posts on their perth now site at PerthNow | Western Australia's premier news, sport, entertainment and lifestyle site
Perth Now has regular columns on a Tuesday from Cam Shepherd
The West Australian normally has a column from Gitts and Mitchell - not sure if they will continue when in Sth Africa
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Thanks for that, TQ1.
Wonder about Ch 7..quite disappointed with their coverage in 2007 and going by the pre-season, looks like nothings changed (except when its about a broken jaw or quokka). Will wait for Sat/Sun news this week before I make a formal complaint (I like my 7 News).

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
