Shepherd close to new Force deal
ABC - March 13, 2008, 3:35 pm
Western Force full-back Cameron Shepherd says he plans to stay at the club and will sign another contract with the Force within the next fortnight.
Shepherd, who last year received a late call-up to the World Cup squad, did not specify how long his re-negotiated contract would run but says he plans to stay in Western Australia for "at least a few years".
The Force have extra room in their salary cap after sacking Matt Henjak for breaking team-mate Haig Sare's jaw last month.
Shepherd says he wants to remain part of the Force's development.
"The set-up we've got here... it's a great core group of players with a young age and we're slowly starting to develop a positive way of playing and I think its showing on the field," he said.
Great News, from not only a great player but a real "good guy".
At all the matches including The Perth Spirit games, he is one of the first to come over to the sidelines to greet the fans and encourages the other players to do the same. Often he is the last one signing autographs.
Good One, Cam, we look forward to seeing for the next few years wearing the blue and hopefully the Gold jumper is not to far away on a more permananent basis.
hopefully another piece of the S14 championship jigsaw in place.....
Woohoo Sheps!!! ....show Gits the way

I'm getting really worried about Season 2012 - until then we seem to be keeping em
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
the next wallaby fullback legend player legend bloke
The 'Saders don't have any trouble keeping superstars, and they don't have any trouble playing awesome rugby after losing 1 or 2 good players...I think we'll be OK, we'll have two championships under our belt by 2012 remember?
The only trouble might be losing players to the newly formed Chinese Taipei team or West Bromwitch Under Twelves who will be paying more than an ARU topped up contract for Matt Giteau!
C'mon the![]()
