Great to see a few old Aussie legends still getting a run at the International level.
I think most of them would make the Wallaby Train On Squad still too!
You could add Justin Harrison to that list too.
This is the kind of fixture the ARU should be attracting to try out new combinations and junior players rather than Tests.
Perhaps the ARU could arrange an annual Australian Invitational XV fixture with these type of expat Australians players topped up with a few Uncapped Australian based players for numbers, to allow the selectors to look at their full squad under pressure?
If played in Perth, I would go for sure if just to see some of the greats strap on a boot in Australia again!
World XV (Barbarians) Squad:
Forwards - Christian Califano (Gloucester & France), Dave Hewett (Edinburgh & NZ), Andrea lo Cicero (L'Aquila & Italy), Radike Samo (ACT & Australia), Mark Regan (Bristol & England), Raphael Ibanez (Wasps & France), Tom Palmer (Wasps & England), Cobus Visagie (Saracens & SA), Owen Finegan (Newcastle & Australia), Olivier Magne (London Irish & France), Sam Harding (Northampton), Xavier Rush (Cardiff & NZ), Toutai Kefu (Kuboto & Australia), Sebastian Chabal (Sale & France), Julien Pierre (Bourgoin).
Backs - Carlos Spencer (Northampton & NZ), Bruce Reihana (Northampton & NZ), Ludovic Mercier (Gloucester), Justin Marshall (Ospreys & NZ), Mark Robinson (Northampton & NZ), Matt Burke (Newcastle & Australia), Thomas Castaignede (Saracens & France), Fraser Waters (Wasps & England), Joe Roff (Kuboto & Australia), Isa Nacewa (Auckland), Cedric Debrosse (Narbonne & France).

I argee Burgs, it would be a great way to get a feel for up coming talent against a quality opposition, and as you eluded to, without awarding (at the time) undeserved caps.Originally Posted by Burgs
There are many versions on the theme but one example of the concept could be:
Australian Invitational XV:
1. David Te Moana
2. Tai McIsaac
3. Rodney Blake
4. James Horwill
5. Justin Harrison
6. Radike Samo
7. Owen Finegan
8. Toutai Kefu*
9. Josh Valentine
10. Manuel Edmonds
11. Joe Roff
12. Matt Burke
13. Mark Bartholomeusz
14. Digby Ioane
15. Peter Hewat
16. John Ulugia
17. Ben Daly
18. Daniel Montagu*
19. Jone Tawake
20. Brett Sheehan
21. Shane Drahm
22. Paul Warwick*
Italics = Local Trialists
Italics with * = Overseas but young enough to still return for S14/Wallaby consideration

On a similar theme the baa baa's to face Scotland tonight also include a fair number of Southern Hemisphere players. Hadn't realised that Chris Malone is without a Australian cap though.

yeow not the most stylish of wins... but hey we won!
by the sounds of it bokke got shown what's what in the scrum... completely dominated up front!
Question:
Is the World XV associated with The Barbarian's?
Just happy to be here
Moses, I think the likes of CJ, Visagie (might yet be selected), Os and Ollie will be able to look after themselves just fine in the real matches![]()
not so sure about Os anymore..Originally Posted by Goldmember

I thought Visagie had been ruled out by White as an option?
OS OS GIMMI SUM VORSE! lol yeah Percy = chuck norris! oh um Moses who was it again who could drilled in the scrums all last season? oh the wallabies.... mmm
good point Shaunmarn, why talk about the scrums last weekend when we can talk about the scrums last season...
while we're in our time machine let us all travel back to the 1999, I feel good things are coming up for the Walllabies!
