Apologies if this has been brought up before, but does anyone know the connection between the Tuggeranong Vikings and the Canberra Vikings?
ones full of tuggers, the other ones tuuggeranong
Isn't Vikings a pretty standard ACT reps side name?

I ended up emailing the Tuggeranong director of rugby and this is the basic gist of it:
The Tuggeranong Vikings formed in the 1970s and play in the ACT competition. The team's licensed rugby club is now known as the Vikings Group and has become quite wealthy.
The Canberra Vikings, on the other hand, are the ACT Rugby representative side. The Vikings Group is the chief sponsor of the team, which is why they share the Vikings name, logo and colours.
I recently spent a long weekend over in Canberra and had a few coldies with my old man in the Vikings clubrooms, quite spanking too i might add...Pokies definately help with the bills though...
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....
