Aussie, Kiwi players much the same - Deans
AAP | Thursday, 19 June 2008
New Wallabies coach Robbie Deans says he's finding there's little difference between New Zealand and Australian rugby players.
Writing the first of a regular weekly column on the Australian Rugby Union website, Deans praised his new players for their willingness to listen, learn and contribute since starting his tenure.
"One of the questions I've been repeatedly asked since the time we first assembled 2-1/2 weeks ago is with regards to the differences between Australian players and their New Zealand counterparts I've coached previously," the former Crusaders boss and All Blacks assistant wrote.
"To be honest, there is no great difference."

Deans finds Kiwis and Wallabies players very similar

Coaching the Australian national rugby side is no different to coaching a team of New Zealanders, new Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has revealed.
New Zealand's Deans guided the Canterbury Crusaders to their seventh Super rugby title, and fifth under his guidance, before taking over the Australian job this month.
The former All Blacks fullback made a winning start with a hard-fought 18-12 victory over Ireland on Saturday and Deans was pleased with the way the team responded to his style and ideas.
