Having problems getting in to the TWF Java based chat room?
Here is an alternative
if you download a program called mIRC which can be found at URL="http://www.download.com"
to get started with mIRC you will need to do the following
When you open mIRC you will either see a General Option window open for you, OR will open this by clicking file then Options.
Select ADD
DESCRIPTION: TWF
IRC SERVER: irc.vbulletin-chat.com
port:6667
Select ADD
Select Channel Folders
ADD Channel
#thewholeforce
ADD
now Click on the lightning bolt
this will allow you to connect to the TWF chat room via IRC
Once connection has taken place the Channel folder should open - selecting #thewholeforce will open the TWF chat room
What is IRC?
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) provides a way of communicating in real time with people from all over the world. It consists of various separate networks (or "nets") of IRC servers, machines that allow users to connect to IRC.
Each user is known on IRC by a "nick", . To avoid conflicts with other users, it is best to use your userID from TheWholeForce.
I would suggest that you register your nick, by typing "/register (nick) (password) (email address)"
this way no one can pretend to be you, or steal your nick
each time you enter the TWF chatroom you will need to type
"/identify (password)"
Inside the chatroom or channel, you may see @ along side some nicks like mine and coach's and Burgs (sometimes).
@ denotes channel operators or "ops" for short, we can control the channel by choosing who may join (by "banning" some users), who must leave (by "kicking" them out), and even who may speak (by making the channel "moderated")! The ops have complete control over their channel,
I hope this helps you get started
