This weeks rumours of the week:
Rumours of the week
An interesting legal battle is looming involving a well-known Australian rugby identity. It involves alleged bonuses and breaches of contract because of dodgy third-party deals.
(Is this a thinly veiled reference to the Firepower troubles, or are other rugby identities allowed a bit of slack. If it is the Firepower stuff, I thought the general consesus was that legal action was basically throwing away cash because there's no money there to get)
A new contract requires the Waratahs to play a game at ANZ Stadium next year. We hear some NSW officials wished it was just an option rather than being set in stone.
Please tell me either the Brumbies, Reds or maybe Saders get this 'honour' cos if I have to watch theout in the boonies I will NOT be thrilled
Meanwhile, who in their right mind agreed to that????? Bit late to be thinking it would have been good to have it as an 'option'.
Did a Wallabies official, when asked if they were interested in following the Manly league team in using calves' blood injections to cure injuries, say: "As we now have so many Kiwis involved, we'd probably use lamb's blood."
Rest of R&M here

Is this what you had in mind, BLR? He is also a yarpie, expect him to be on the wing in 5 years time.

Why is this idiot posted on this website?
Is he still writing?
Interesting question Mr Man, they constantly go on about how much he hates them, yet religiously syndicate anything he puts out.

Man, Moses; The expression "if you don't like it, change the channel" is as applicable here as it is when discussing Big Brother.
My question regarding the first vignette is, given that is sounds like a rehash of the Firepower story, that's had headlines blazing for months, why is it suddenly in the "no names, no pack drill" section. If it's not Firepower, why do they get protection of said section?
Secondly, given the interest in stadiums around here (and recent threads about the merits of playing smaller tests at the SFS rather than ANZ), I was wondering what on earth would convince the NSWRU to agree to play Waratahs games at the Olympic stadium. So far all I'm come up with is, there's a buttload of money in it for them somewhere.
Yes, Growden frequently appears as the designated Asshat of the week around here, but if issues are raised in his articles, then that's what's going to get linked to.
Give up the trolling, it's getting really dull.

I like Growden for his intense vagueness and the fact all his stupid rumours never come true, it makes for good comedy because he is the Chief Rugby Correspondent and I don't really think he knows what he is doing half the time.![]()
Hey you know how it goes... Friday arvo = beers![]()

Grumbles sits at his desk rocking back and forth saying to himself "gotta write something about the Force" over and over again. He probably has a Force jersey that he cuddles up to at night

this is a prime example of paranoia!
anyway, in regards to the Tahs playing at ANZ stadium, it might have being something one of there sponsors made them to do or something similar.
I know with the Reds it is part of there contract with QR to play at Suncorp stadium.
