Hey everyone.
For those of you who have foxtel be sure to tune into the history channel at 8:30AEST (6:30 here) to watch a special on the history of the Bledisloe Cup.
Here's what the history channel's website has to say about the program:
'In the mid 1970s Australian rugby was at its lowest point. Trounced by the All Blacks in New Zealand and beaten at home by rugby minnows Tonga, things had to change.
The series examines the resurgence of Australian rugby from “easy beats” in the 70s to world champions in 1991. That path was only possible because Australia grew to compete with their nearest neighbour – New Zealand.'
I'll be sure to record it so if it's any good and those who don't have fox want to see it i'm sure i could copy it to DVD's for those who are keen.
And for those who are watching the game live on saturday be sure to yell at your televisions extra loud for me who will be working til 5. And enjoy the force game that night... i will look out for you guys in the grandstand (i'm sitting on the other side).
Cheers.![]()

What day is it on Jessc??
Friday 7th july 8.30pmEST - I'll set the tivo tonight!!
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
Is that the "Rise and Rise" one from ABC or another doco?
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Does that mean you'll be doing a DVD?Originally Posted by Happy
Whoops sorry about that! Yeah it's on Friday on history channel at 6:30 then again on history channel +2 at 8:30.
There will be an encore screening at 4:30pm on saturday but i don't know why people would be watching the history of the bledisloe cup when they could watch history in the making and watch the cup match itself.
I'll go edit my original entry..

Well we have a DVD recorder so i can record the game onto the machine then copy the show onto DVDs if needed. I made a sweet little U2 music video compilation for my best mate for her birthday a year or so ago and it works well.
Just for those who really want to see it who don't get the chance. Or those who can't be bothered recording it themselves![]()
We'll see how good it is. I can post them in the mail. Or drop them into JB's. Whatever people want. I'm on a month holiday with nothing to do so burning DVD's won't be a problem at all.![]()
I made Happy sad...
I just had a look to see if it is the same one as the ABC series "Rise and rise of Australian Rugby: Bledisloe Cup" and the descriptions seem almost identical so it could well be the very same doco.
I didn't actually see it so it's still all new and exciting for me. Did you see it burgs? was it any good?

Yes Jess, I bought copies of both and they are excellent, probably the best Australian Rugby doco's that I've seen.
1. The R&R of Australian Rugby, The Bledisloe Cup
2. The R&R of Australian Rugby, The Grand Slam "Deluxe Edition" (Has full coverage of all five Tour matches, including Barbarians, with choice of ABC (Gordon Bray at his best!) or BBC (THE sound of Rugby!) commentary. Also special on the Aus Schoolboys 77/78 that became most of the Wallabies and many other great specials!)
I think you should buy them "for your Dad" for his birthday and Christmas Jess!

I do still owe the old man a birthday present. Said i would take him to the pub and buy him a beer as it is the first time i've been 18 when he's had a birthday. Still haven't got round to it... DVD's could be a winner.
We have a few aus rugby docos but they're a bit old school... could do with some newer ones.![]()
cheers burgs. i'll look into the grand slam delux one seeing as i will record the first one on friday.
I made Happy sad...
Will talk to you on the weekend and compare notes about the bledisloe cup doco to make sure it was actually the same as the one you've seen.
cheers again.

*looks around for geeks who can torrent the show*
Any takers, wouldn't mind seeing it, I don't have the History channel at home or at work![]()
